RainbowUCT Movie Night

“Lights, Camera, Action!” It is that time of the year again: RainbowUCT presents the official RainbowUCT Movie Night. This highlight of the Rainbow social calendar promises gay cinema at its best and buttered popcorn bursting at the seams!

Join your fellow LGBTIQ film connoisseurs on the evening of the 16th of April from 18:00 to 22:00 for a night of tasteful gay cinema in Leslie Social Science Lecture Theatre 1C. A selection of LGBTIQ-themed films will be screened. This event serves to explore current themes in gay cinema, but above all as a chance to escape the relentless pace of university life, sink a little deeper into our seats and enjoy quality time with our friends (or fellow critics). Ample amounts of popcorn and soft drinks sweeten the deal.

Mission

RainbowUCT is a student society at the University of Cape Town. It is a society run entirely by students, and exists for all people who appreciate sexual diversity. We celebrate and promote an individual’s right to choose their own lifestyle. We offer support to people coming to terms with their own sexuality and strive to create an environment that is accepting, tolerant and free of homophobia both on our campus and in the wider community. Additionally, we promote activism and education within these communities, and organise various social events throughout the year.
