Health4Men

Health4Men provides free and confidential HIV screening at their clininc in Woodstock. Health4Men may also prescribe PEP if you've had a high risk exposure to HIV infection, provided that you test HIV negative and commence the treatment within 48 hours of the exposure. If you test positive, they will also undertake CD4 testing and counselling. Health4Men supplies free ARV treatment and will monitor your health to address any symptoms or side-effects you may experience.

Health4Men also offers free and confidential screenings for sexually transmitted infections (STIs) such as syphilis, gonorrhoea, chlamydia and genital warts. They’ll also treat your STI, free of charge. They offer vaccination against viral STIs such as Hepatitis B. In addition to HIV and other STIs, feel free to consult with them if you have any other sexual health concerns. They also address prostate, testicular and anal health.

These services are available at Health4Men's Ivan Toms Clinic located at Woodstock Hospital, Victoria Walk Road, Woodstock.

Triangle Project

Triangle Project's sexual health clinics offer HIV testing and training. Their services include complementary health services, HIV-related counselling and testing, STI testing and management, and general physical health. Their clinics offer tailored services to meet the needs of gay men and lesbian women. These clinics are run by gay and lesbian doctors and counsellors. Their support services include professional counselling, support groups and community counselling.

Triangle also offers social spaces and events, such as their library, book clubs and their team of Outreach Workers facilitate safe spaces on a regular basis in various townships and outlying areas.

Triangle offer training and development courses to the LGBT community, community organisations and institutions. These courses cover personal growth, counselling skills, and educator’s awareness project.

Triangle supplied a selection of media products, such as information booklets addressing issues of specific relevance to the LGBT community, as well as their family members.

Triangle also sends out a regular newsletter and their website features an online calendar of events, information about their services, a variety of links, resources, and downloadable products.

HAICU

HIV/AIDS Coordination - UCT (HAICU) organises awareness and prevention workshops. UCT offers HIV diagnostic services to students, with free voluntary counselling and testing available at the Student Wellness Centre.

HAICU is located at 28 Rhodes Avenue, Mowbray, 7700, next to the UCT Student Wellness Service (Student Health and Psychological Services).

The Joint Working Group

RainbowUCT forms part of the Joint Working Group (JWG), a network of organisations working towards an end to hate, brutality, homophobia and violence in our communities. JWG activities include raising awareness, combined lobbying and activism, research, inter-organisation communication and marketing, and developing the sector.

Gay And Lesbian Network Helpline

This helpline is managed by a team of trained lay counselors, who have being trained by Lifeline and further enhanced and developed through other training courses. Counselors are able to assist callers grappling with any issue by providing callers with a professional free counseling service or providing necessary information, advice, referrals and support to callers.

The helpline operates from Monday to Friday, 4pm to 10pm, and on Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 10pm. The helpline number is 0860 33 3331, or SMS HELP to 079 891 3036 and a trained lay counselor will call you back.
